MLB Rumors: Seattle Mariners & Oakland A's Talking Trade

The Oakland A's have been shopping Tony Kemp all offseason, but they have yet to officially move him. However, things may be changing on that front, as the Seattle Mariners are now making a push to acquire the veteran.

It makes sense that the Mariners are considering acquiring Kemp, as he would provide them with a solid utility player as they aim to make the postseason for the second straight season. Although he would not be guaranteed an everyday spot if acquired, he would provide them with a very good depth option moving forward.

Kemp offers solid versatility, as he can play the middle infield and outfield. As a result, he would certainly receive a good amount of chances if acquired, but we will need to wait and see if the Mariners' interest in Kemp leads to them acquiring him before the regular season begins.

In 147 games last season with Oakland, Kemp had seven home runs, 46 RBIs, and a .235 batting average.
