MLB Trade Rumors: Shocking Team Linked As Trade Destination For Mike Trout

Mike Trout hit another bomb on Saturday, giving him 14 for the season, with a .906 OPS, on pace for his best output in four years. The three-time MVP has once again made himself relevant after several seasons of injury troubles seemed to spell the end for him as an impact player. Not so fast.

But one thing that hasn't changed is that his Los Angeles Angels are bringing up the rear in the American League, sitting last place in the AL West once again.

Will this finally be the year that Trout says, 'Alright, I've had enough, trade me already!'?"

"The Angels are a dumpster fire, already all but guaranteed an 11th consecutive season with a losing record," writes Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report. "Trout remains on track for what might be his highest WAR in a single season since 2019 and is about as tradable right now as he has ever been."

White Sox named as trade fit for Mike Trout if Angels decide to sell

If it does come down to that, Miller suggests that the Chicago White Sox will be the "most obvious fit" for him.

He points to their woeful production out of center field (dead last in MLB with 0 homers, 29th in RBIs with 12, and 26th in SLG at .304.

"The Chicago White Sox have an abundance of wiggle room in the budget (both now and for the next five years) and a winning record... If they aren't at least forcing the Angels to repeatedly say no on Trout, they aren't doing their due diligence."

As for the budget, they'll need it, as Trout still has four more years to run at $37M annually, which will take him through his age-38 season.

Shockingly, the Pale Hose, coming off three consecutive 100-loss seasons, were actually three games over .500 going into the weekend and held down a Wild Card spot in the American League. They can't let this stunning opportunity to actually contend for the first time in half a decade slip away.
