Orioles DFA Pitcher With 3.43 ERA With Team
Enns Heads to the Waiver Wire
He posted a 3.94 ERA, with 13 strikeouts across 16 innings of work. It is worth noting, however, that he also allowed a staggering 11 walks in those outings too.
When Enns returned from the IL on May 2, he rejoined a bullpen that had added Nick Raquet to the mix alongside Tyler Wells, Keegan Akin, and others, and the competition for left-handed bullpen spots became increasingly crowded.

The Orioles have DFA’d Dietrich Enns.
Enns has a 3.94 ERA in 16 innings this season. Orioles hoping he passes through waivers because he’s on a $2.625M salary this season. https://t.co/O8MrHGt2PQ
Enns, 34, was the most recent example of a Orioles pitching gamble that paid off brilliantly and then ran its course.
He was acquired from the Tigers for cash at the 2025 July 31 deadline after struggling in Detroit, produced a 3.14 ERA across 17 appearances in Baltimore down the stretch, struck out 34 batters in 28.2 innings, and earned a one-year, $2.625 million contract for 2026 with a team option for 2027.

Enns debuted with the Twins in 2017, pitched in the NPB for two seasons with the Seibu Lions, one season in the KBO with the LG Twins, and then earned his way back to a relevant MLB role in his mid-thirties.
With more than five years of MLB service time, he has the right to reject an outright assignment and become a free agent, which is the most likely outcome given the $2.5 million salary that remains on his contract and the competitive claiming market for experienced left-handed relievers.
