New York Yankees Rumors: Free-Agent Outfielder On Team's Radar

The New York Yankees have World Series or bust expectations heading into the 2023 season. As a result, they are looking to make some last-minute moves before Opening Day, and free-agent outfielder Jurickson Profar is on their radar because of this.

The Yankees lost outfielder Andrew Benintendi through free agency this offseason, so there is a notable hole in their outfield. Although Aaron Hicks is currently their expected starter in left field, it would be wise to get another solid option like Profar for it. With that, Profar also offers great versatility, as he can play second base and shortstop as well.

Profar spent this past season with the San Diego Padres, where he had 15 home runs, 58 RBIs, and a .243 batting average in 152 games. Overall, he has the potential to be a solid addition to the Yankees' group, so we will need to wait and see if they end up signing him from here.
