The Diamondbacks Make History With All-Time Road Losing Streak

The Arizona Diamondbacks have officially hit rock bottom, etching their place in the modern-day record books with their 23rd consecutive road loss, dropping a 10-3 decision to the San Franciso Giants.

The DBacks have surpassed the futility of the 1963 New York Mets, who lost 22 straight away from the Polo Grounds. The 'Snakes' haven't won a game on the road since April 25th. Other ugly numbers on this road to ruin:

  • 14th straight loss overall (a franchise record)
  • 2-28 in last 30 games
  • 5-37 in last 42 games
But is it rock bottom, really? The road ahead is problematic: Their next four opponents away from the confines of Chase Field: The San Diego Padres, St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs. Not a single 'gimme' in the bunch.

In fact, their next series on the road against a team with a losing record is well over a month away. Yikes.
