NY Mets Free Agent Offer to Kyle Tucker Revealed
The New York Mets are officially in the bidding for top free agent Kyle Tucker. A number of reports surfaced on Tuesday indicating the monster value of a Mets' offer to the five-tool outfielder.
Will Sammon of The Athletic reported Tuesday morning that the Mets have made an offer in the range of $120 million to $140 million for three years. That's about $40 to $47 million annually.
That was updated and upgraded later in the day by Robert Murray of FanSided who reported the Mets had actually made a short-term offer at a staggering $50 million per year. That would put him just a tick behind the record of Juan Soto’s $51 million average annual value.

"The Mets are super-serious about this," said Keith Radd on SNY.
New York needs an outfielder to fill Brandon Nimmo's spot after the longtime Met was traded to the Texas Rangers this offseason for second baseman Marcus Semien. They also seriously need a big bat to fill the void in their lineup left by the departure of Pete Alonso. Tucker makes a lot of sense.
But the word all offseason is that a longer-term contract was what Tucker was looking for, and so far, the only team that's offered that, is the Toronto Blue Jays.
