Toronto Blue Jays DFA Pitcher With 0.00 ERA

He was only asked to do one thing, and that's to get out left-handed hitters. He has done that and more in a mere 4.1 innings of work with the Toronto Blue Jays since returning to the club. But that 0.00 ERA and .117 batting average vs. LHB this season wasn't enough to allow southpaw Ryan Borucki to keep his job. He's been designated for assignment, ending his second stint in Toronto.

Of course, the move is understandable, as the Jays needed to clear room on the 40-man roster for No. 1 prospect Trey Yesavage, who was called up from Triple-A and is making his major league debut Monday night.

As for Borucki, who was previously with the Jays to start his career from 2018 through 2022, he does not want to leave the organization, so he'll be reporting to Buffalo in Triple-A (assuming he clears waivers).

Borucki made his return to the Jays organization in August, signing a minor league deal after being released by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Although he didn't allow any runs, he did walk four in his 4.1 IP.

Brendon Little, the other situational lefty in the Jays bullpen, has settled himself back down of late, and has five straight scoreless appearances, likely making this move to DFA Borucki a lot easier.
