2-Time All-Star & Gold Glover DFA'd For 1st Time In Career
A former two-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glove winner, Starling Marte's production has been at an all-time low this season. With that, the Kansas City Royals have designated Marte for assignment. It's the first DFA of Marte's career.

Signed by the Royals back in spring training to a one-year, $1 million major league deal. But it hasn't worked out the way either side would have liked. Marte has batted just .242, down over 40 points from his career mark, and his .611 OPS is over 150 points below his .777 lifetime mark. He has just two homers and 14 RBIs in 168 Play appearances.
The Royals were Marte's sixth major league team in a 14-year MLB career. He's also suited up for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Arizona Diamondbacks, Miami Marlins, Oakland Athletics, and New York Mets.
