BREAKING: Yankees Acquire All-Star Closer From Giants
At the deadline buzzer, the New York Yankees have reportedly acquired All-Star closer Camilo Doval from the San Francisco Giants, according to Jack Curry of YES Network.
In return, the Giants acquire Jesus Rodriguez (NYY 25th ranked prospect), Parks Harbor, Trystan Vrieling (NYY 19th ranked prospect), and Carlos De Rosa.
Doval Bolsters Yankees’ Postseason Push
Doval, 28, is coming off a strong rebound season in San Francisco, posting a 3.09 ERA with 15 saves and 50 strikeouts across 46.2 innings.
Known for his electric cutter averaging 98 mph and a wipeout slider, Doval was an All-Star in 2023 when he led the National League with 39 saves. He joins a Yankees bullpen that now looks stacked heading into the stretch run of a tight American League East race.

In return, the Giants receive four promising prospects: right-hander Trystan Vrieling, catcher/third baseman Jesus Rodriguez, corner infielder Parks Harber, and 17-year-old left-hander Carlos De La Rosa.
With Doval under team control through 2027, the Yankees’ aggressive move shows their clear intent to secure the division and make a deep October run.
