MLB Trade News: Brewers Acquire Left-Hander From Yankees In Trade

The Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees have struck a deal, as the Bronx Bombers have sent left-handed reliever Rob Zastryzny back to the Brew Crew.

The Yanks had signed the 33-year-old to a minor league deal this season, after he had been with the Brewers organization last year.

Zastryzny had encouraging results with a new pitch-mix in a nine-game run with Milwaukee last season, posting a 1.17 ERA with a 0.65 WHIP in 7.2 innings. But his season was cut short due to elbow tendinitis.

He was never called up to the Yankees this season, and had spent his year up till now in Triple-A, where he posted a 4.50 ERA in 12 innings with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He has been immediately called up to the Brewers, however, and will join the Milwaukee bullpen once again, as he'll replace the demoted Elvis Peguero.

Overall, Zastryzny, a native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, has a 4.30 ERA in 67 major league innings in parts of six seasons, with the Chicago Cubs, New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels and Pittsburgh Pirates along with the Brewers.

The Yankees will receive cash considerations in return.
