Detroit Tigers Sign First Baseman; Hit 31 Home Runs In The Minors Last Season

Bringing him back.

The Detroit Tigers have re-signed first baseman Quincy Nieporte to a minor-league contract.

Nieporte slashed .270/.331/.536, with 31 home runs, 91 RBIs, two stolen bases and 72 runs scored as he tore up Double-A ball last season.

As a result, he'll more than likely begin the season at Triple-A Toledo.

For his minor-league career, Nieporte holds a .271/.329/.477 triple-slash line, with 42 home runs, 161 RBIs, two stolen bases and 124 runs scored over 254 games.

The twenty-eight-year-old is a former 26th-round pick by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2017 MLB Draft.

Nieporte will continue to provide quality first baseman depth in the minors and he'll be looking to finally make his major-league debut this season.
