Mariners Pitcher Elects Free Agency

He made it back to the majors for the first time since the 2019 season.

Now, pitcher Roenis Elias has elected free agency.
Elias made it back to the majors for the first time since the 2019 season after undergoing Tommy John elbow reconstructive surgery just before the 2021 season.

The thirty-four-year-old posted a decent 3.52 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and six strikeouts over 7.2 innings and seven appearances for the Mariners.

Over his seven-year career, Elias has posted a 3.96 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 331 strikeouts across 395 innings of work. He's spent time with the Mariners, Boston Red Sox, and the Washington Nationals.

Elias will most likely get a minor-league contract this off-season.
