Giants Claim DH Off Waivers

The San Francisco Giants have claimed Yermin Mercedes off waivers from the Chicago White Sox. 

Mercedes was recently designated for assignment by the White Sox, but he will now be getting a fresh start with the Giants. He will begin his time with the team in Triple-A, but don't be surprised to see him get an eventual call-up to the majors. 

In 69 career games with Chicago, Mercedes has seven home runs, 37 RBIs, and a .270 batting average. Let's see if he has the chance to build on these numbers as a Giant.
