MLB Rumors: Astros Linked to Potential Trade for Red Sox All-Star
The Houston Astros have had a nightmare start to the 2026 MLB season. At the time of this writing, the Astros have an 8-13 record and are fourth in the American League West standings. They also have been trending in the wrong direction as the season rolls on, as they have lost eight out of their last 10 games.
With the Astros struggling so much, it would not be surprising in the slightest if they looked to add to their roster during the early stages of this season. Because of this, they are now being linked to one of baseball's top trade candidates.
In a recent article for Sports Illustrated, Patrick McAvoy named the Astros as a top landing spot for Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran.
It is no secret that Duran is a prime trade candidate, as the Red Sox have too many MLB-caliber outfielders. With this, it would not be shocking if the Red Sox were open to dealing him if it meant landing a very good return. Thus, the Astros would be wise to kick tires on him.
With the Astros in need of another high-impact outfielder, they should be among the teams in the sweepstakes for Duran. He would work well in the front half of their batting order and could thrive with a fresh start in Houston.
