SF Giants Sign Gold Glover in Free Agency

The San Francisco Giants have added a big boost of run prevention to their defense, signing a former Gold Glover who is coming off the best season of his career in Harrison Bader.

Bader was one of the top 10 free agents left on the market, and has capitalized on his excellent 2025 with a two-year deal worth $20.5 million.

The 31-year-old Bronx native posted an OPS just a few ticks shy of .800 this past year, while posting career bests across the board:

  • Avg.: .277
  • OBP: .347
  • SLG: .449
  • OPS: .796
  • OPS+: 117
  • HR: 17
  • RBIs: 54
  • Hits: 124
  • Runs: 61
  • Plate appearances: 501

He was even better when he got to the Philadelphia Phillies at the trade deadline, recording a .305 average with them in 50 games, along with an .824 OPS with 30 runs scored.

Bader spent the first six years of his career with the St. Louis Cardinals, but has since played on six teams in the last four seasons. The Giants will be his 7th in five years. He has a career .247 average with a .714 OPS and 105 stolen bases to go with 88 homers.
