MLB Rumors: Orioles To Be Most Aggressive Team In Specific Search This Offseason
After finishing with one of the league’s worst collective ERAs, president of baseball operations Mike Elias is expected to make pitching the top priority. According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, agents and rival executives believe the Orioles will be the most aggressive team in pursuit of arms this winter.

Orioles to aggressively target pitching
Baltimore’s lack of meaningful additions to the rotation last offseason proved costly, as injuries and underperformance pushed their staff to the bottom third in most major categories. This time, the front office seems intent on reversing course.
The Orioles have already been linked to potential targets such as Dylan Cease, and Elias has publicly stated the team wants to add a starter capable of slotting near the top of the rotation. Whether it’s via free agency or trade, Baltimore’s approach is expected to be far bolder than in years past.
Beyond the mound, questions remain about the dugout.
Interim manager Tony Mansolino could be retained as the full-time skipper, a decision that will shape both the coaching staff and roster construction heading into 2026. Offensively, the Orioles remain talented but inconsistent.
If the pitching staff is addressed aggressively, however, Baltimore could quickly rebound in the competitive AL East and return to postseason contention.
