Seattle Mariners Release Gold Glover After 7 Seasons With Team
The Seattle Mariners have officially placed veteran utility player Dylan Moore on unconditional release waivers, a day after designating him for assignment.
At 33, Moore has enough Major League service time to refuse a minor-league assignment, allowing him to become a free agent and sign with any club for the pro-rated MLB minimum. Moore had no interest in returning to Triple-A Tacoma, making this move a clean break for both parties.

Mariners Place Dylan Moore on Unconditional Release Waivers
Over seven seasons in Seattle, Moore became the Mariners’ longest-tenured player, appearing in 671 games and playing every position except catcher multiple times. He accumulated 7.2 Wins Above Replacement with a .205/.310/.381 slash line, totaling 82 doubles, 11 triples, 61 home runs, 192 RBI, and 116 stolen bases.
Moore earned the American League Gold Glove for utility player in 2024, showing his elite defensive versatility.

Despite a strong April in 2025, where he posted a .286/.346/.557 slash line with six homers in 78 plate appearances, Moore struggled heavily after May 27, collecting just three hits over his next 74 plate appearances and striking out 38 times.
Still, his speed and defensive flexibility make him an attractive minor-league signing for teams seeking depth. Moore is in the final season of a three-year, $8.875 million contract, and any club claiming him off waivers would assume the remainder of his $3.9 million salary.
