MLB Trade Rumors: 8 Teams Vying For White Sox' Luis Robert Jr.
Luis Robert Jr. Drawing Trade Interest from Eight MLB Teams
According to New York Post insider Jon Heyman, eight MLB teams have reached out to the Chicago White Sox about the 27-year-old outfielder, with the Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and New York Mets among the most notable potential suitors. While his offensive output has cratered (.190 average, .599 OPS), Robert’s speed, power vs. lefties, and defensive upside still offer plenty of intrigue.

Robert has been a disappointment since his breakout All-Star 2023 campaign. Injuries and plate discipline issues have derailed his production, but he’s still posted a .913 OPS against left-handed pitching and swiped 22 bags this season.
With a $15 million salary in 2025 and a $20 million club option looming for 2026, the White Sox might be motivated to move him now before his value dips further. There’s even talk that Chicago could include cash to help facilitate a deal.

Robert’s trade value isn’t what it once was, but teams remain intrigued by his upside and believe a change of scenery could spark a turnaround. He could make sense as a platoon or complementary piece for a playoff-bound roster.
