The elite closer is now on paid leave until the end of August as part of baseball's investigation into a sports-betting scandal.

Clase was one of the top names potentially available at the trade deadline, which hits on Thursday, as every contender is looking to beef up the back end of their bullpen.
The three-time All-Star had a 3.23 ERA and 24 saves this season, following three straight years with 40+ saves.
He joins his Cleveland teammate, Luis Ortiz, who is also part of the investigation, on the inactive list.
