Correa has a no-trade clause, and was happy to waive it to head back to Houston. He won't be manning his old shortstop grounds however, as he'll be taking over third base, with regular hot corner man Isaac Parades out due to injury for an indefinite period, facing potential season-ending surgery on his hamstring.

Astros All-Star shortstop Jeremy Peña is set to come off the injured list at some point this week.
The Twins are reported to have eaten some of the money still owed on Correa's massive long-term deal that has at least three years and $96 million remaining, plus another four years of vesting options.
There are other major league players involved in the deal, details have yet to be announced.
Correa was the Rookie of the Year for the Astros in 2015, and was a key part of their controversial 2017 World Series run. He played the first seven years of his career there, but left in free agency after the 2021 season, in a drama-filled winter that saw him sign a 13-year, $350 million deal with the San Francisco Giants before they backed out over medical concerns, and then a 12-year, $315 million contract with the New York Mets, who also then voided their deal for the same reason.
Correa then signed with the Twins for three years and $105 million. He opted out after a year, and re-signed with Minnesota on a six-year, $200 million contract.
This season, Correa has a career-worst .704 OPS, with just seven homers in 93 games. Over his career, he has a .275 average with an .817 OPS.
And oh yes... This deal is still pending medical review...
More to come...
