Baltimore Orioles Sign Speedy Free Agent Outfielder

Outfielder Ben DeLuzio has joined the Baltimore Orioles after signing a minor-league contract with the team.

The 28-year-old player had a stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate but was released due to his underwhelming performance at the plate, batting just .180 with a low OPS of .544 in 25 games.

Although DeLuzio's recent offensive struggles raise questions about his immediate major league prospects, he brings valuable assets to the table.

Known for his speed and defensive versatility, he can play all three outfield positions effectively. In the 2021 minor league season, DeLuzio showcased his potential with a solid .277 batting average, a .353 on-base percentage, nine home runs, 49 RBIs, and 30 stolen bases in 363 at-bats.

With the Orioles, DeLuzio now has an opportunity to provide additional outfield depth for the team.

While his recent performance may have been lackluster, his defensive skills and base-running ability make him a valuable asset.
