New York Yankees Rumors: Outfielder Becoming Trade Candidate

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks is no longer a starter for them, and it appears that a trade centering around him could come to fruition because of it.

Hicks recently told reporters that he has "no idea" what his role is with the team anymore. When noting that he was expected to be a starter on their roster this season, it makes sense that he is not too thrilled to be a depth player. Thus, as a way to do right by the player, they could move him to give him the opportunity to receive regular playing time.

Hicks has shown in the past that he can make an impact, and his 27-home run campaign in 2018 shows that. However, he also struggled last season, as he had a .216 batting average in 130 games. Perhaps a change of scenery is needed at this point for him to get his game back on track, so we will need to wait and see if he gets traded from here. It may be the best course of action for both the player and the team.
