Texas Rangers Sign Right-Handed Pitcher

The Texas Rangers have signed right-handed pitcher Robert Dugger to a minor-league contract.

Dugger, who had a 6.19 ERA in 16 innings split between the Tampa Bay Rays and Cincinnati Reds last season, has compiled 86.2 innings across four different teams at the major-league level since 2019, posting a 7.17 ERA over that stretch.

As part of his new contract, Dugger will likely join the starting rotation at Triple-A Round Rock.

For his minor-league career, the 27-year-old has compiled a much more serviceable 4.19 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, with 533 strikeouts over 567 innings and 125 appearances.

He's a former 18th-round pick by the Seattle Mariners in the 2016 MLB Draft.
