New York Mets Rumors: Infielder Being Shopped

The New York Mets have a very deep roster and have World Series aspirations because of it. Yet, at the same time, their offseason of spending has dropped some players on their depth chart. Due to this, the Mets have made Darin Ruf available for trade.

The Mets acquired Ruf from the San Francisco Giants last season in hopes that he would provide them with more offense. However, Ruf struggled mightily after being dealt to the Mets, as he had just 10 hits in 66 at-bats (.152 batting average). As a result of this, it is understandable that the Mets are open to moving him.

Teams looking for a bit more depth at first base and the outfield could consider making a push for Ruf, as he offers versatility. However, with the Mets' roster being so deep, it is unlikely that he will get too much playing time if they keep him. Thus, be on the look out for a potential Ruf trade - whether that is before Opening Day or during the regular season.
