Washington Nationals Rumors: Reliever Becoming Trade Candidate

The Washington Nationals are in a full-on rebuild, and that was made abundantly clear when they traded Juan Soto to the San Diego Padres last season. As a result, many of their older players will likely be dealt this season, and one specific reliever who is expected to be made available is Kyle Finnegan.

Finnegan has shown over these last three seasons that he is a reliable MLB-caliber reliever. He was one of the Nationals' top relievers in 2022 as well, as he has put together a 6-4 record to go along with a 3.51 ERA. With teams always aiming to strengthen their bullpens, we should expect to see Finnegan form a pretty big market from here.

Teams who are already being linked to Finnegan include the Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, and Atlanta Braves. However, as the season rolls on, more clubs should join the sweepstakes.

Alas, we will need to keep an eye on where Finnegan ends up landing from here.
