Cincinnati Reds: Top Prospect To Watch In 2023

Christian Encarnacion-Strand, one of the top prospects for the Cincinnati Reds, is one of the most exciting young players to watch this season.

Encarnacion-Strand has made quite the impression on the Cincinnati Reds organization since being acquired from the Minnesota Twins in the Tyler Mahle trade last year.

The 23-year-old third baseman had an impressive performance during this spring's Cactus League, crushing four home runs and 13 RBI in 27 plate appearances.

Encarnacion-Strand's talent is undeniable, as he recorded 32 home runs and 114 RBI in 122 minor-league games last summer.

While he may not have made the Opening Day roster, the Reds believe that he has the potential to become a powerful offensive player at the hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

Despite his relatively limited experience, Encarnacion-Strand's advanced approach to hitting and ability to use all fields make him a name to keep an eye on for this season. While he has shown impressive raw power, he is also working on improving his strikeout rate and reducing his tendency to chase soft pitches.

Encarnacion-Strand's versatility, which allows him to play both third and first base, is also an asset that could make him a valuable player for the Reds in the future.
