Chicago White Sox Sign Left-Handed Pitcher

Headed to Chicago.

The Chicago White Sox have signed left-handed pitcher Ben Holmes to a minor-league contract.

The 31-year-old has yet to make his MLB debut.

Last season, with Double-A Milwaukee, Holmes recorded a 6.03 ERA, 1.77 WHIP, with 27 strikeouts across 37.1 innings of work.

He's a former ninth-round pick by the Miami Marlins in the 2014 MLB Draft.

For his minor-league career, he holds a decent 3.60 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 410 strikeouts over 470.1 innings and 144 appearances.

Holmes will likely provide some mid-level minor-league depth.
