Boston Red Sox Infielder Set to Return

Earlier this month, Boston Red Sox infielder Justin Turner took a fastball square to the face. Although it was quite frightening in the moment, he avoided serious injury and is set to return for Monday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. With that, he is expected to be good to go for Opening Day.

This is simply excellent news, as it seemed that Turner would need to miss time. However, now that he has avoided serious injury, the Red Sox are going to have one of their key hitters available for the start of the campaign.

The Red Sox signed Turner this offseason, and it marked the completion of his very successful nine-year tenure as a Los Angeles Dodger. Over that span, he appeared in two All-Star Games, won a World Series, and was the NLCS MVP. Now, we will need to wait and see how he performs with the Red Sox from here as they aim to get things back on track in 2023.
