Arizona Diamondbacks Send Down Pitching Prospect

The Arizona Diamondbacks have made a change to their roster, as they have sent down top pitching prospect Brandon Pfaadt to the minors.

This demotion came as a surprise to some, as Pfaadt was having a strong spring training. In four appearances, he had a 3.75 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 12.0 innings pitched. However, even with the Diamondbacks sporting a weak roster, that was not enough for him to stick around in the majors.

Although this demotion is certainly not the greatest feeling in the world, there is reason to believe that Pfaadt will end up getting a call-up at some point during the regular season. He has the tools to be an effective MLB pitcher, so we will need to wait and see how he performs in the minors this year from here.

In 29 games last season split between Double-A and Triple-A, he sported an 11-7 record to go along with a 3.83 ERA.
