Atlanta Braves Option 2 Infielders

The Atlanta Braves have some changes to their current roster, as they have optioned Vaughn Grissom and Braden Shewmake to Triple-A.

Many believed that Grissom would be taking over Dansby Swanson's spot at shortstop after the Braves failed to bring in a replacement, but now the youngster will instead start the year in Triple-A. In 41 games this past season with the Braves, he had five home runs, 18 RBIs, and a .291 batting average. Although this demotion is not the greatest, don't be surprised to see him called up during the regular season.

Shewmake was also in the running for the starting shortstop gig, but he also will not be it given this demotion. Shewmae has yet to make his MLB debut, and that, unfortunately, will not occur on Opening Day. In 76 games this past season with Triple-A Gwinnett, he had seven home runs, 25 RBIs, and a .259 batting average.
