Cincinnati Reds Rumors: Closer Becoming Trade Candidate

The Cincinnati Reds are in a full-on rebuild. As a result of this, they have traded away several of their most notable players since last offseason, and that is something that we will likely see continue to here. As a result of this, one specific pitcher from the Reds who is generating a lot of buzz on the trade market is Alexis Diaz.

Diaz just put together a truly dominant rookie season that saw him sport a 7-3 record to go along with a 1.84 ERA and 10 saves in 59 appearances. As a result of this, his trade value is easily at its highest, and the Reds could land a plethora of assets to help their future if they move him. With that, the Reds are rebuilders, so having a high-impact closer does not do them much good at this point.

Several contenders would love to get their hands on Diaz, but like stated above, they will need to give up a lot to get him. Teams like the New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and St. Louis Cardinals are all emerging as possible landing spots for him. We will need to wait and see if he gets moved from here.
