Houston Astros Sign Pitcher

The Houston Astros have added to their pitching depth, as they have signed Austin Davis to a minor league contract.

Davis spent this past season split between the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins, where he had a 2-1 record to go along with a 5.79 ERA. Needless to say, it was a rough year for the 30-year-old, but now he has the chance for a fresh start with the Astros organization from here. However, for him to make their major league roster for Opening Day, he will of course need to impress at spring training.

There is no harm in Houston taking a chance on a veteran pitcher like Davis. Let's see if he can make the major league squad from here.
