Cincinnati Reds Sign First Baseman

The Cincinnati Reds have made a minor move, as they have signed first baseman KennysVargas to a minor league contract.

Vargas has not appeared in a major league game since the 2017 season when he was a member of the Minnesota Twins. Over the last handful of years, he has instead played overseas, but now he is ready to test his luck in North America again. If he impresses at spring training, perhaps it could open the door for him to get back into the majors. When noting that the Reds sport a weak roster, it certainly does not seem too out of the question.

In 135 games last season, Vargas had 27 home runs, 100 RBIs, and a .307 batting average. Let's see if some of this offense translates over to the Reds in 2023.
