Toronto Blue Jays Sign Pitcher

The Toronto Blue Jays add more pitching depth.

The Blue Jays have signed pitcher Nathan Witt to a minor league contract.

Witt has spent the last six seasons in the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays minor league systems.

This past season, at Double-A Montgomery, the twenty-six-year-old recorded an ugly 7.53 ERA, 2.06 WHIP, and 31 strikeouts over 28.2 innings of work.

For his minor-league career, Witt holds a 5.77 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, with 125 strikeouts over 121.2 innings. He's made six starts, 95 relief appearances, converted seven saves and has a 6-11 record.

The stats aren't pretty but Witt will get a fresh start with the Blue Jays, as he looks to turn his career around.

He is a former 17th-round pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2017 MLB Draft.
