Nine-Year Veteran Signs Overseas

Not returning to the MLB.

Pitcher Tyler Viza has signed with the CTBC Brothers of Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League.

Viza signed overseas after being released by the Minnesota Twins in late July. He went on to post a 2.51 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over 32.1 innings with the Brothers to finish the 2022 season.

However, instead of attempting to make a comeback to the majors, Viza will instead stay in the CTBC and try to continue to improve his stock.

Viza has spent the previous nine seasons in the minors, registering a 4.40 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 639 strikeouts across 816 innings of work.

He is a former 32nd-round pick by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2013 MLB Draft.
