Three-Year Veteran Pitcher Elects Free Agency

Hitting the open market.

Pitcher Tayler Scott has elected free agency.

Scott was designated for assignment earlier this month and will now test the open market.

This past season, Scott posted an ugly 6.75 ERA, 2.08 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts over 12 innings. He was then claimed off waivers by the Philadelphia Phillies in September but never got into a game with the team.

Over his three-year major league career, the thirty-year-old holds a 11.12 ERA, 2.36 WHIP, and 27 strikeouts across 28.1 innings of work. For his minor-league career, Scott has compiled a respectable 3.90 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 512 strikeouts over 650 innings of work.

He is a former fifth-round pick by the Chicago Cubs in the 2011 MLB Draft.
