Yankees Change Starter for Game 5

Game 5 being postponed changes a lot for the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians.

Most notably the starting pitcher, as Nestor Cortes will now start instead of Jameson Taillon on Tuesday versus the Guardians.

It was going to be Jameson Taillon, but the Yankees will now turn to Cortes following Monday's rainout in the Bronx.

Cortes allowed two runs over five innings in Game 2 on Friday, but Taillon took the loss in relief in that one after surrendering two runs on three hits while recording no outs in the top of the 10th.

Cortes had a breakout year, posting a 2.44 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and 163 strikeouts over 158 innings of work. He's been carrying that success over to the postseason as he's been a massive part of the Yankees playoff team, thus far.
