Padres Announce Game 1 Starter; Posted a 9.69 ERA Against the Dodgers This Season

The San Diego Padres have made their decision on who will start Game 1 of their NLDS series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

It will be Mike Clevinger getting the ball on Tuesday night for the Padres.

Clevinger posted a 4.33 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 91 strikeouts over 114 innings this season. He made 22 starts and held a 7-7 record.

Clevinger has made three starts against the Dodgers this season, and it hasn't gone so well.

In the first start, on August 6, Clevinger threw 4.2 innings, allowed five earned runs and struck out three. The Dodgers won the game 8-3.

In the second start he made against the Padres, on September 4, he pitched 3.1 innings, allowed five earned runs and struck out four. The Dodgers won the game 9-4.

The third and final start Clevinger made against the Dodgers this season was on September 9, where he threw five innings of four-run baseball while striking out four. The Padres won the game 5-4.

It will be a bit of a lopsided pitching matchup on Tuesday night between Julio Urias and Mike Clevinger.
