Orioles Outright Pitcher

He was designated for assignment by the Baltimore Orioles last week.

Now, pitcher Anthony Castro has cleared waivers and been sent outright by the Orioles to Triple-A Norfolk.

Castro will likely remain with the Orioles' organization as extra relief depth heading into the 2023 campaign. 

The twenty-seven-year-old posted a 7.43 ERA, 2.18 WHIP, and 12 strikeouts over 13 innings this season and 12 relief appearances in the majors. 

In the minors, Castro held a 3.55 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, and 47 strikeouts over 38 innings. In 36 appearances, he converted three saves and held a 1-3 record.
