Tampa Bay Rays Designate Pitcher For Assignment

The Tampa Bay Rays have designated Dusten Knight for assignment.

Knight has appeared in six games for the Rays this season, where he sports a 0-1 record to go along with a 5.73 ERA. Overall, with stats like these, it is fair to say that he hasn't been the most reliable when called upon, so perhaps this removal from the Rays' 40-man roster could have been predicted.

As a result of this DFA, Knight will now be hitting the waiver wire. Teams in need of some pitching depth could make a claim for the righty, but if not, he will be outrighted to Triple-A from here. Let's see what ends up happening on that front.
