Rockies Promote Two Players

The Colorado Rockies have recalled infielder Alan Trejo from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Over two seasons in the majors (39 games), Trejo has slashed an unremarkable .224/.256/.329, with two home runs, nine RBIs and 13 runs scored. In the minors this season, the twenty-six-year-old has been quite good, however, batting a .296 average, a .331 on-base percentage, and 16 home runs, 52 RBIs and two stolen bases across 274 at-bats.

He will provide the Rockies with some added bench depth down the stretch.

The Rockies have also recalled pitcher Chad Smith from Triple-A Albuquerque.

He's appeared in 32 games, holding a 1-2 record and converting 12 saves.
