Rangers Select Contract of Pitcher from Triple-A

The Texas Rangers have selected the contract of pitcher Jesus Tinoco from Triple-A Round Rock.

Tinoco is one of the two September callups for the Rangers.

The twenty-seven-year-old has spent four years in the majors, pitching with the Colorado Rockies, Miami Marlins and the Texas Rangers, throwing 53 innings with a 4.70 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 41 strikeouts.

In the minors this season, Tinoco has pitched to a solid 3.27 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 51 strikeouts across 44 innings. In 35 games, he has a 1-2 record and has converted 13 saves.

Tinoco will likely pitch in low-leverage situations for the Rangers down the stretch.
