Reds Place Starter on IL One Day After Activating Him

Well, that didn't last long.

The Cincinnati Reds have placed starter Justin Dunn on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder tightness.
Dunn was activated off the illness-related injury list on Wednesday, but the shoulder issue is apparently too much for him to play through right now. As a result, he'll head back to the injured list.

This is most likely a season-ending injury for Dunn, given how much time is left in the regular season. He was scheduled to start on Friday against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The twenty-six-year-old was limited to just 31 innings over seven starts this season, posting an ugly 6.10 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts over 31 innings. Dunn will most likely find a spot in the Reds' rotation for the 2023 season.
