Padres Activate Slugger from Concussion Injured List

The San Diego Padres are getting one of their trade deadline acquisitions back.

The Padres have activated Brandon Drury from the 7-day concussion injured list.

Oddly enough, the Padres manager Bob Melvin said this past weekend that it was unlikely that Drury would return from the injured list by Thursday. He was apparently feeling much better and was targeting a Tuesday return which, ultimately, turned into a Thursday return.

Drury went 2-for-3 in his return to action, hitting a single and a double.

The thirty-year old breakout slugger has hit a .265 average, with 25 home runs, 79 RBIs and two stolen bases this season. Drury was acquired by the Padres from the Cincinnati Reds at the trade deadline.

He'll add a big boost to the Padres, as the team vyes for a playoff berth.
