Pittsburgh Pirates Designate Pitcher For Assignment

The Pittsburgh Pirates have designated Cam Vieaux for assignment. As a result, he is officially removed from their 40-man roster.

Vieaux appeared in his first 10 MLB games this season, and boy did things not go smoothly for him. In 8.2 innings pitched, he allowed 10 earned runs, which equates to a 10.38 ERA. Those kinds of numbers just won't cut it, so it isn't too surprising to see that the Pirates have decided to designate him for assignment.

Due to this move, the Pirates will now be placing Vieaux on waivers. Teams looking for a bit of help with their pitching could elect to give him a chance. However, if he ends up clearing waivers, he will remain with the Pirates, as he does not have enough experience to elect free agency.
