Orioles Call Up Pitcher

The Baltimore Orioles have recalled pitcher Logan Gillaspie from Triple-A Norfolk.

Gillaspie threw 2.2 innings against the Boston Red Sox on Monday night, allowing two hits, one earned run and two strikeouts. His presence gives the Orioles a fresh bullpen arm.

In the majors this season, the twenty-five-year-old has posted a 3.68 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and seven strikeouts over 14.2 innings. He's made 14 relief appearances. 

In the minor leagues this year, Gillaspie has registered a pedestrian 4.78 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 49 strikeouts across 43 innings of work. He's made 28 relief appearances, converted one save, and has a 6-3 record.
