Braves Option Pitcher

It was a short stay in the majors for him.

The Atlanta Braves have optioned pitcher Alan Rangel to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Rangel was called up over the weekend from Double-A Mississippi to give the Braves some extra relief depth following the oblique injury to rookie phenom Spencer Strider. He never ended up getting into a game, however.

The twenty-five-year-old has posted an underwhelming 5.26 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 139 strikeouts over 114.2 innings in the minors this season. He's started 26 games and holds a 5-8 record.

Rangel should have an opportunity to make his major league debut sometime next year.
