Nationals Place Pitcher on IL; Recall Reliever

The Washington Nationals have recalled pitcher Andres Machado from Triple-A Rochester. 

It is a corresponding move to the club placing pitcher Victor Arano on the injured list.

Andres Machado has been recalled from Triple-A, with Victor Arano going on the 15-day IL with a right shoulder strain.

Machado has already spent time with the Nationals this season, posting a pedestrian 4.57 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 37 strikeouts over 43 innings of work. 

He'll be a middle-inning reliever for the Nationals.

The Nationals have placed pitcher Victor Arano on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to September 2nd, with a right shoulder strain. 

The twenty-seven-year-old has been nothing special this season, registering an ERA of 4.50, a 1.40 WHIP, and 44 strikeouts over 42 innings. 

There's a chance we see him back before the end of the regular season.
