D-Backs Call Up Pitcher

The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled pitcher Tyler Holton from Triple-A Reno. 

Holton takes the place of injured starter Ryne Nelson on the team's active roster. 

The #Dbacks recalled LHP Tyler Holton from Triple-A Reno and placed RHP Ryne Nelson on the 15-day injured list (right scapula inflammation).

Holton has only pitched nine innings at the major league level this season, posting a serviceable 3.00 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and six strikeouts. He's made 10 appearances with the D-Backs this season. 

He'll likely work in the middle innings.

In the minors this season, the twenty-six-year-old has registered an underwhelming 4.97 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts over 38 innings. In 22 appearances, he's made one start, converted one save and holds a 4-0 record.
