Cleveland DFA's Pitcher; Activates Pitcher Dominating in the Minors

The Cleveland Guardians have designated pitcher Anthony Castro for assignment.

The club has also activated pitcher Cody Morris from the 60-day injured list.
Castro has been up-and-down the minors and majors all season long. In the majors, the twenty-seven-year-old has posted a brutal 7.43 ERA, 2.18 WHIP and 12 strikeouts in 13 innings.

Castro has been nothing special in the minors this season, holding a 3.94 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and 39 strikeouts in 29 innings. He's converted three saves and has a 1-3 record.

He'll likely go unclaimed on waivers given his performance up to this point in his career.

The Guardians have activated pitcher Cody Morris from the 60-day injured list.

Morris is an intriguing arm joining Cleveland's bullpen, as he's posted an outstanding 1.69 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 39 strikeouts over 21 innings this season. In nine games, he's started six and converted one save.

The twenty-five-year-old will be making his MLB debut when he first appears in a game for the Guardians. He'll be a valuable option for the club down the stretch.
